Mayfair Care Agency is here to help you with your prescriptions. Our carers are happy to manage your or your family member’s medication and liaise with doctors and pharmacists to order more, or we can assist in prompting you to take your medication and simply be there for vital extra support.

Medication Assistance & Support

Medication is undoubtedly a tricky thing to manage. It can be especially hard if you have several medications to take throughout the day, and even harder to manage the older we get.

Our care professionals understand that taking medication can be a difficult thing to manage and therefore, we offer a medication assistance service that ensures all our service users receive their medication safely.

This service includes:

  • Prompting or reminding people to take their medicines
  • Administering some or all the person’s medications
  • Helping people keep track of their medications.

Our care professionals aim to ease some of the stresses of taking medication. Our care is there to ensure the service user receives the correct medication at the right time each day.

Our aim is to help our service users get the most out of their medications; improving their quality of life and avoiding the problems that arise with improper pharmaceutical use. Our priority is to assist our service users in managing their medications independently.

We understand the difficulties some people have with taking medication and as such help with opening bottles and blister packs, taking the medication, dosage and collecting the medication. Additionally, this includes helping to apply any medicated creams and lotions.

We pride ourselves on working closely with service users and their families in and around the Worcester area to ensure all personal care needs are met and their lifestyle is maintained.

Dealing with medications

Many people of all ages find it difficult to manage medication. We can offer you or your family member assistance to ensure you are taking the right medicine at the right time. We can prompt, remind, or give full support by administering medication.

Monitored dosage

We can assist you or your family member by arranging to have the prescribed medication put into a Monitored Dosage System by the pharmacist. Although this involves remembering to take the medication at the right time, it takes away the worry of organising or re-ordering medication, which takes a lot of the stress away. With this system, once the medication has been taken it will be clearly marked to avoid confusion.

Holistic care

We can also discuss your or your family member’s health needs with you in general. And if an appointment with a healthcare professional is required, we can help make the appointment. We may also accompany you or your loved one to the appointment.

Need help with prescriptions?

We can organise prescriptions and ensure that prescriptions go into the doctor's surgery on time. We can also collect items from the chemist when they are ready and then bring them to you or your loved one or arrange for regular deliveries straight from the pharmacy if this service is preferable.

Our Mayfair Care Agency care staff receive training in the safe administration of medicines. They also have regular competency checks.

Yes, if we have their permission & consent.

Yes, if needed, again it usually has to be within their allocated time during the call.

We try our best to accommodate certain medication times, but this will highly depend on our capacity at the time. We have spoken to GP’s or pharmacists before to see if medication could be given at slightly different times to allow us to administer it during our call time.

No, we are not allowed to administer anything that is invasive or requires a specialised technique

Yes, we can assist with this if it’s part of the agreed care package.
